He’s got the Pelagians on one side, Donatism on the other. There’s no peace, no, ub, time for Golf.

Thanks for the plug Steve-o. Sorry about the almost total lack of posts lately. It;s just that I’m in a kind of transition phase right now, living with the until-recently-long-lost relations in a beautiful country village in Cheshire. They have been wonderful and the reunion aspect of it has been life-changing. But they’re not internet people. THey’ve got it but it’s dial-up and on the system they’ve got, it is charged by the minute. So unfortunately, I’m stuck using it strictly for work-related time and blogging is a completely unjustifiable extravagance. But remember when I wrote that I wanted to move into a small village between Oxford and London and have a corgi? Well, no one told me about Chesire.
Imagine all the BBC adaptations of Jane Austen books ever made, the country settings, the little villages, the charming pubs, the thatched roofs, the crusty farming men, cows, sheep and the farm market…
all that and more. I’m taking posession next Monday of a 200 year old cottage. Fireplace in each room. Courtyard in the back. Doors too short for anyone but a hobbit to go through without stooping.
I’m renovating it back to as close as possible its original c.1800 condition. (the sandstone tiles had to be done by hand with a scraper and a wire brush and a lot of elbow grease.)
There will be pictures. Lots of pictures.
But not for a couple of weeks yet.
Glad to be back in the ’sphere though. Even if only a little bit.
Now I know how a member of the Borg collective feels when those Federation scoundrels kidnaps him and cuts him off.
Gad, but I want back into the Collective!
I miss you guys!
Nice to have you back.
What Steve said!
