Be Careful What You Say in Front of the Kiddies

I’m guilty of this. Sophia will spill something on herself and immediately proclaim, “DAMMIT!” I’m trying to get her (and me) to stop.

This is classic:

And another thing…why do British children sound so cute (and funny) when they talk?

One Response to “Be Careful What You Say in Front of the Kiddies”

  1. About the time that our oldest was learning to talk, his favorite movie was “The Sound of Music.” It so captivated him (and he is so musical), my wife let him watch portions of it nearly every day.

After several weeks of watching Julie Andrews, he sounded like he’d just gotten off the boat from England. It was cute, but because we were listening to him every day we didn’t realize how noticable it was. And then I had him out with me somewhere and the people asked, “Is your wife British or something?”

We immediately curtailed his viewing, but it still took quite a long time before he lost all the traces of British speech.
