McRomney?
I never thought I’d see it. You’d swear that the two hated each other’s guts. Then all of a sudden, the music fades in, and it’s “So Happy Together“:

In a show of Republican unity, one-time bitter foes John McCain and Mitt Romney raised money and campaigned together Thursday for a single goal - getting McCain elected president.
“We are united. Now our job is to energize our party,” the Arizona senator said in an airport hangar, flanked by Romney and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., an early McCain supporter. Both have been mentioned as potential vice presidential picks, and McCain praised each.
Romney lauded McCain and promised to do all he can to help, saying: “He is a man who is proven and tested” and without question the right man to be president.
The logical reason they’re playing nice is that Romney carried Utah with 90% of the vote, and McCain needs that help (that future GOP nominee hopeful Romney is only too happy to give). I think this might also to do with the fact that Romney is favored by more conservatives as concern continues to mount over McCain’s lack of a consistent, conservative record.

Whatever the case, the pictures are tremendous. I’ve never seen people so artificially exuberant. Not even in commercials. I mean, what could they be discussing that’s got them in stitches as they stare deeply into each others eyes? NAFTA? The Economy? Only the photographer knows for sure.
This is a smart career move for both men. I think we’ll be seeing more of the “happy” couple in the future.

They look like they just finished a tickle fight.
Eeew. You’re right.
At least they’re keeping their hands off of each other, unlike Kerry/Edwards.
Did anyone else get the song “So Happy Together” stuck in his head?
I can see me lovin’ nobody but you
For all my life
When you’re with me baby the skies’ll be blue
For all my life
oh … and Romney sold out.
Whoa. Never saw that one coming.
/sarcasm
McCain’s always been known for having a good sense of humor (as with many people, the flip side of his famous temper). But Romney ….
Expediency. Romney proved nothing if he did not prove that while running for Gov in MA when he was suddenly “prochoice” and “progay marriage”.
