Sometimes, I’m Glad I Rent

Woke up late this morning, went through the usual routine, climbed into the shower, got clean, got out, grabbed my razor, turned on the faucet and…nothing.

Tried the shower, that had been fine until a few seconds prior. Nothing. I notice that the toilet is making noise like it’s trying to fill, but can’t.

I just called my wife and she said, “Yeah, it looks like we need a new well pump.”

Since moving in in February, we’ve had problems with the heating, the electrical, and the water. We’ve had to have rooms re-wired, a water heater replaced, a filtration system put in to get the sediment (which rusts everything) out of our sinks, etc.

With enough financial pressures of my own, I feel bad that the landlord has to keep fixing this stuff (he bought this house to flip it, and got stuck with it in this market downturn) but I’m glad, really glad, that I don’t have to.
