The subject of Natural Family Planning comes up every now and then, and it seems there’s quite a lot of disagreement over it. At Inside Catholic, Simcha Fisher had an article on NFP yesterday that took a more insightful look at the topic than I’ve seen in a while. But there’s more, I think, that [...]

My latest column, Face to Face With The Death Penalty, is up today at Inside Catholic.
Also, I’m noticing slowness on the blog today. Page loads are really dragging. Hopefully this is a traffic issue and will clear up. Probably something to do with the way the Internet tubes sometimes get tangled and/or clogged.

The other day I wrote a post about how women in the workforce have damaged the family wage, and therefore how ironic it was that there were news reports worrying over how economic downturns affect women’s wages and therefore the financial health of families.
The comments got dragged off-topic into a long discussion about just wages [...]

Yesterday afternoon, I was jonesing for a snack. Not just any snack, mind you - oh no! A chocolatey snack. One of my coworkers, sensing my need (or perhaps hearing me say, “Jeeze, I could really go for some chocolate!”) pulled something from her desk drawer. I know what you’re thinking, but no, it wasn’t [...]

Since we’ve been having an obnoxious number of problems lately, I’ve removed all the plugins and reinstalled them, even patching in some new ones. Hopefully this will resolve the issues we’ve been having where you see nothing but a header or a footer. That problem has struck totally at random and I’ve been mystified as [...]

Jamie found a giftcard the other day and we decided to go on a date to the movies last night. We saw The Dark Knight, and I went into it with already high expectations after listening to all the hype, so I was ready to be disappointed.
I wasn’t. My only real dissapointment is that with [...]
