It seems that as I’ve been thinking more about the Web 2.0 experience for Catholics, and how this need could be better filled, a bunch of sites have been popping up that are beginning to explore the possibilities.
The latest one I’ve found is called “Headline Bistro“, run by the Knights of Columbus. The site combines a user-submitted news component with a category-driven, RSS-enabled front page; a Catholic voter guide broken down by state; a collection of video clips and podcasts; and links to a number of Catholic blogs, including this one. (I actually found the site because I noticed an incoming link on my stats page.)
The site looks to be in its early stages of development, and I think it’s still missing something, but it shows initiative on the part of the KofC to get in there and try to figure out how to make this kind of thing happen.

Whoa — you’re currently the second blog listed on HB, directly below Amy Welborn!
I think I’ll definitely start reading more of Headline Bistro. I’m no longer reading Digg because it has become one huge pro-Obama snark-Palin orgy. Disgustingly fickle for a community of participants that not long ago espoused principled belief in Ron Paul’s campaign.
