I just saw this video from 2006. Aside from the fact that the guy saw much of this mess coming, he even said on national television (to no small amount of amused derision) that a lot of women with children don’t want to work, but have to, because their husbands can’t make enough:

My concern is this: I think the Eurobanks are going to fall harder than ours, and already are it seems. The Europeans have a stronger currency than ours, it seems, but I not convinced it’s making their situation any easier.
It all seems to feed into Mark Steyn’s thesis of America as the last man standing.
