City Living

Our recent move has put us only 10 miles from the heart of downtown D.C. You’d never know it though, to look at our yard - it’s really the best of both worlds (click for full-sized versions):

“It has been two weeks since my last confession. I accuse myself of envy…”
Beautiful, Steve! I see lots of garden produce, chickens, and rabbit cages in your future …
Looks great, Steve. I’m very happy for you.
Ivan is SO cute in that picture of him on the porch, I love the caption haha ‘most likely to eat the poison berries’
Your house is gorgeous, I’m glad it worked out so well for you guys!
Oh man, I am coming to your house.
What a great yard.
Very nice.
You’re children are too cute. I’m sticking with the theory that you’ve actually rented these little models from Central Casting.
peace,
can you say dream house??
the look on ivan’s face is classic - a mix between “hi daddy” and “oooo berries!”
Hilary,
You’re welcome in my yard any time! (We’ll have to talk about whether you get to come inside though…)
Beautiful! (Especially the kids.)
I think you mentioned that you’re in Falls Church, not far from the Metro. The first house we rented after getting married was in a similar neighborhood, with a similar-sized yard, 2-3 blocks from the East Falls Church Metro. If memory serves, it was something like 1105 North Sycamore Street. Is that anywhere near you?
Chris,
Yes - very close. About a mile away.
Steve,
I believe that the bush with the berries is bush honeysuckle. It was hard to find out if they are actually poisonous or not. Sources seemed to range from not to slightly poisonous. In any case they don’t seem to be deadly. Hope this helps.
