Your writing definitely came through in this touching piece Steve. I still think you should go ahead and crank out a novel, even if publishing seems a distant hope.

Steve,

I stumbled onto your website by accident. I was trying to find out who wrote "A Journey of a Thousand Miles" Then I was sucked up into your wonderful stories. Maybe you should become a writer?

I linked to you from another site. As, I was reading your story, tears welled in my eyes. I felt a familiar lump in my throat and a knot in my belly. I shared, however brief, the frantic fear of loosing a child you had seen only moments before. I had a very similar experience while potty training our then 4 year-old. I was as far away from God as I could be at the time. But as I fell to my knees in the middle of a corn field begging Him to return my son, I promised to make it right. God in His infinite mercy led me to my son, covered in mud and poo. It changed my life and my perspective. Thank God you son was found.

My heart goes out to you!

Hey, fellow FUS alum.... I have no idea where in AZ you are, but we are in Vail, outside of Tucson, and there is a GREAT group (more than 60!) of homeschool families here You ought to join us some day if you are around. Or, at least, come on out to my place for dinner!

Sometimes friends make all the difference when you're wandering in the desert.
